Today is the 74th birthday of 70s actor Rakhee Gulzar. Rakhee has given many super hit films in her time which you must have seen. Rakhee made a name for herself in the industry with her films and her powerful characters but did not find any happiness in her personal life. Rakhee married Gulzar in 1973 and Gulzar wanted Rakhee to quit films after marriage, but Rakhee did not want it. Rakhee wanted to work in films.

It is said that the two started fighting over the same and once Gulzar slapped Rakhee in front of everyone. Rakhee says that after the incident, Rakhee decided that she would not stop working in films, and during this time she got an offer for the film 'Kabhi Kabhi. Gulzar refused Rakhee to do the film but Rakhee refused and he said yes to the film. He left Gulzar to work in the film. Rakhee was married to Bengali journalist Ajay Biswas (1963) at the age of 16 but the two separated in two years (1965).

Rakhee then married Gulzar in 1973 and the relationship between the two also became bitter within a few days. The two separated after a few years of marriage but have not divorced till date. Gulzar is said to have beaten Rakhee several times, though there is no evidence. Rakhee started her journey with Bengali films and made her strong place in Bollywood. Rakhee and Gulzar also have a daughter who is now a famous filmmaker. Meghna Gulzar is Rakhee's daughter, but when Meghna was one year old, both Rakhee and Gulzar started living separately.
