New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind expressed his condolences on the death of businessman and Padma Bhushan awardee Rahul Bajaj on Saturday.

On Saturday, the former chairman of the Bajaj Group passed away at the age of 83.

Rashtrapati Bhavan took to Twitter to say, "I was heartbroken to read of Shri Rahul Bajaj's death. He was a doyen of Indian industry, and he was zealous about the country's interests. His career mirrored the nation's corporate sector's rise and inherent strength. His death leaves a gap in the world of industry. My heartfelt condolences to his family."

Bajaj passed away at Pune's Ruby Hall Hospital. "Rahul Bajaj, an industrialist, died today at 2:30 p.m. in Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune. For the last month, he had been receiving therapy for cardiac and lung issues. His funeral will take place the next day "Ruby Hall Clinic Chairman, Dr. Parvez Grant, said in a statement.

Rahul Bajaj's funeral will be place on Sunday with full state honours, according to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
