India is the country with many religious mythologies. Each and every god plays an important role in all of them. These stories vary from state to state according to the culture and beliefs of the worshipers
Mahabharat and Ramayan are the two epic mythological books which contain each and every relation and emotion into them. Various characters and different situations are intact in
each book respectively.

On the occasion of the birthday of Lord Rama or Ram Navmi, we are here to share the summarised version of Ramayana. The main story can be summarised as below:

Raja Dasharatha of Ayodhya had three wives. The names of his beloved wives were Kaushalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra. The king was having four bright and intelligent sons. Rama was the son of Kausalya. Bharat was the son of Kaikeyi. Lakshman and Shatrughan were the sons of Sumitra.

Rama won a Swayamwar and married to Sita, the daughter of Raja Janak of Videha. Raja Dasharatha declared Rama Chandra to be his heir-apparent as he was the ablest and eldest of all his sons.

This provoked his stepmother (Kaikeyi), who thinks his son is more capable. She wants Bharat to be the successor of her husband. And as such, she managed to get Ram Chandra ostracized from the country for a period of 14 years.

As a loyal and faithful son, Ram Chandra obeyed the order of his father and went over to jungles along with his wife, Sita, and brother, Lakshman. As the chance had it, Ravana, the ruler of the Lanka, took away Sita to his country. Rama, with the help of Lords Hanuman and Sugriva, raged a war against Ravana in which the later was killed and Sita was got back. The period of banishment having been over, Rama came back to Ayodhya along with his wife and brother.

In this story, you can see the beautiful portrayal of relationships. Ramayana took place during a period of time known as Treta Yuga. This epic poem was written by the  Hindu sage Valmiki.
