Dehradun: Independent MLA Ram Singh Kaida from Bhimtal in Uttarakhand joined BJP on Friday. He is the third MLA from the state to join the BJP before next year's Assembly elections in Uttarakhand and in the last month. At a press conference held at the party headquarters, Kaida joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Smriti Irani, General Secretary and Uttarakhand in charge Dushyant Gautam, in charge of the party's media department and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni and state BJP president Madan Kaushik.

Speaking on the occasion, The Same Irani said that PM Narendra Modi completed two decades of service to the country while holding constitutional office on Thursday and has made an unprecedented contribution to India's innovation by connecting the organization with society. She further said, "Inspired by this, Kaida has joined the BJP. I congratulate him in the BJP family. I wish he would contribute to empowering and self-respecting Uttarakhand by following the path of the organization.''

Baluni said that in the last month, there has been a continuous programme to join the BJP and Kaida is the third MLA to have suppressed the BJP due to this. He claimed that there is a "huge wave" in favour of the BJP in Uttarakhand. After becoming a member of the BJP, Kaida said that BJP is a party that works for the people with the voice of the inner soul. It is a party working for the country, society and people. He said he will work strongly as a BJP worker.
