well, here are the answers to all of them. there is no specific line mentioned in the holy Quran which specifies it as haraam.

but according to Zakir Naik, the doctor who has become a tv preacher of Islam, the most popular personality of India amongst the people who follow Islam. he believes that some parts of Quran indicate music as haraam.

“But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty.”

the idle takes he takes to be music.

some people who consider the Quran to be above all and doesn't consider hadith valid as it is just the historical accounts of preachings of prophet Mohammad.

some families even forbid the children to join music instrument.
There is no such clear revelation that it is haraam or not. if you believe that it should be forbidden, do your very best to cut it off and indulge in fasting and salaat.
