But there was a sour sweet relationship between Ramanand Sagar and Sunil Lahiri. Along with this, while speaking on his relationship with Ramanand Sagar, Sunil Lahiri revealed in an interview that there was a love relationship between the two. For this reason, Ramanand Sagar used to call him his sixth son.

Sunil Lahiri had said- Ramanand Sagar used to get so immersed in shooting that he used to forget the lunch break too. We were young then. Used to eat his food on time. Therefore, I used to get angry if I did not do this. Ramanand Sagar used my anger and roasted it well during the shoot. Because of our love-hate relationship, he used to call me his sixth son. Sunil Lahiri gets angry in real life too, like his character Laxman. Sunil Lahiri's work was well liked by the people many years ago and even today his character of Laxman is ruling in the hearts of the people.
