Shriram and Lakshman are searching for Sita everywhere, they find Jatayu in an injured state, Jatayu tells Shriram that he was waiting for Ram to help him. Jatayu tells Shriram that Ravana took Sita with him from the sky route by sitting on his plane chariot and also expresses regret that he could not save Sita. Shriram takes this vow that wherever he finds Ravana, he will take his life, Jatayu dies in this. Shri Ram and Lakshman perform the last rites of Jatayu with full rituals. Apart from this, Goddess Sita has reached Ravana's Lanka, Ravana comes to meet Sita. Sita does not listen to Ravana, and Sita tells Ravana that her husband Shriram will surely destroy him. Ravana tells Sita that she should become his queen but Sita insults Ravana by calling him a coward.

Ravana forcibly tries to make Sita his wife, only then Sita keeps a straw leaf so that Ravana cannot come to her. Ravana remembers the curse that Nalakuber had given him "If Ravan forces a woman, then Ravan's heads will be destroyed. Because of which Ravana stops and does not force Sita. Ravana gives Sita a period of 1 year to come to Ravana. A demon working in Ravana's Lanka asks Sita to eat food, she convinces Sita and says that Sita will have to be alive till her husband Ram comes. While there, Mandodari sends clothes for Goddess Sita, but Sita returns the clothes saying that my clothes are given by Sati Anusuiya. These are not dirty. Lankapati Ravana's wife Mandodari tells her husband to let Sita go, nobody is benefited by her being here and Mandodari tells her husband Ravana that he should leave Sita to her husband Ram. But Ravana does not listen to Mandodari.

Shriram and Lakshman are wandering in search of Sita. On the way, they find Sita's jewellery and from that, they decide their way forward to reach Sita. Shriram and Lakshman find a dangerous kabhaka monster on the way. He tells Shri Ram and Lakshman that he was not actually a demon but a Gandharva who has become a demon by the curse of sage Sthulashira, along with this he also tells that if Shri Ram will burn him then he will come in his true form so that he will give Shri Ram and  Laxman important information about Sita.  Shriram and Lakshman cremate him and free him from the curse and he comes in his true form. Ravana has gone south with Sita, he tells Shri Ram to meet Sugriva because he will help Rama to reach Sita. Shri Ram and Lakshman go out to meet Shabri.
