There came a time when Swapnil was working in a Ganesh festival drama and actor Vilas Raj, who played Kansa in the serial Sri Krishna, came to a house in his neighborhood. Vilas Raj played the role of a demon named Lavanasura in Ramayana, due to which he was famous. People were excited to see Vilas Raj in Chaul. Young Swapnil, working in the drama, got to see Vilas Raj's eyes and asked his knowledgeable about him. A little later, he came to her house to talk to Swapnil's father. Swapnil told that he was stunned after seeing Vilas Raj. Vilas Raj had asked for a photo of him from Swapnil's father Mohan Joshi. Vilas was shown photos of Swapnil, after which he liked a birthday photo of Swapnil Joshi.

Swapnil's father talked to the production and Swapnil auditioned and he was selected to play Kush. Swapnil Joshi worked in Ramanand Sagar's serial Sri Krishna after Ramayana. In this show, he played the childhood role of Lord Krishna. Vilas Raj was playing Krishna's maternal uncle Kansa. The two actors did a very good job together.
