Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh: As Ayodhya witnesses the Pran Pratistha ceremony of Ramlalla, Kanpur embraced the spiritual fervour through the Sanatan Yatra organised by Ramesh Awasthi, BJP leader and patron of Shri Ram Seva Mission. The event, graced by the eminent professional wrestler The Great Khali, unfolded with chants of 'Jai Shri Ram' and showcased the unity of people in celebrating India's rich cultural heritage.
Commencing from the Old Ram Lalla temple in Rawatpur, the Sanatan Yatra traversed 40 kilometres, featuring a procession of over 300 cars and several raths, culminating at Moti Jheel Valmiki Upvan. Ramesh Awasthi, the driving force behind the event, led the yatra alongside The Great Khali, creating a spectacle that captured the attention and admiration of the local community.
Throughout the yatra, the citizens of Kanpur enthusiastically showered flowers on the people who were there in the yatra, contributing to the festive atmosphere. The resounding chants of 'Jai Shri Ram' echoed through the city, portraying the collective spiritual enthusiasm that animated the event. The yatra aimed to propagate a message of peace, harmony, and spiritual wisdom, as Ramesh Awasthi distributed free Diyas, Ram calendars, and Yatharth Bhagwat Gita along the route.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response, Ramesh Awasthi stated, "The Sanatan Yatra is a celebration of our diverse cultural heritage and spiritual values. Witnessing the community coming together for this journey towards enlightenment is truly heartening." In acknowledgement of Prime Minister Modi's leadership, Awasthi called him the 'Sanatan Nav Jagran Ke Mahanayak.'
The Great Khali, a towering presence at the event, shared his enriching experience: "Participating in the yatra has been truly profound. Ramesh Awasthi's vision of fostering unity and spiritual awareness resonated with the diverse crowd gathered here for the historic Sanatan Yatra is commendable." After visiting the old Ram Lalla temple in Kanpur, The Great Khali expressed a serene feeling, chanting 'Jai Shri Ram.' A special Ram Darshan Rath featuring notable figures of BJP President JP Nadda, PM Modi, and CM Yogi Adityanath alongside the Ram Darbar added to the event's grandeur.
Meanwhile, the National Co-ordinator of Shri Ram Seva Mission, Sachin Awasthi, penned a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging the declaration of January 22nd as "Sanatan Divas'' annually. In his correspondence, he expressed the hope that the acknowledgment of "Sanatan Divas” would serve as a symbolic day, commemorating the continuous cultural and spiritual renaissance unfolding in the nation, as envisioned by Shri Ram Seva Mission.
