Bhoomi Poojan will begin in Ayodhya on August 5, before that a formal ritual was performed in Rameswaram.

This worship was done at the fire shrine at Rameswaram. It is said about the Agni Tirtha that this is the place where Lord Rama and Sita made an idol of Lord Shiva with Lakshman. Devotees consider this place of the idol as Rameswaram Shiva temple. This is a very holy place where thousands of devotees come. Pooja was performed in Shankaracharya Math in view of the situation of Coronavirus. This monastery is very close to the Rameshwar temple.

This special type of worship was performed by local priests. During this time local people of the city and members of the Hindu Munnani organization were present. After this puja, the soil of Rameswaram will be sent to Ayodhya via post. The holy soil of Rameswaram was filled in gold-studded khadau which would be transported to Ayodhya via speed post. On August 5 in Ayodhya, the temple is proposed to do Bhoomi Pujan, for which soil is being sourced from different parts of the country.
