Mumbai: Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana have not even got relief from the sessions court in the Hanuman Chalisa controversy. Now their bail plea will be heard on April 29, till then both will have to remain in jail. Independent MP Navneet Rana, her husband and MLA Ravi Rana did not get relief from the Bombay High Court. Thereafter, he had moved the Mumbai Sessions Court. The counsel appearing for the government in the court said that the bail application cannot be heard in the sessions court as the matter is in the magistrate's court.

On this, the lawyer of the Rana couple said that he would withdraw the petition from there. Further, the advocate appearing for the government in the court has sought time till April 29 to file the reply. In Maharashtra, politics has heated up on Hanuman Chalisa. Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil's clarification has come on the arrest of Navneet Rana, Ravi Rana. He said that the arrest of Rana couple was not for reciting Hanuman Chalisa but for challenging the law and order of the state, disturbing religious harmony and making riotous statements.

The court has sent the couple to judicial custody till May 6. Both have been booked for sedition. The petition of Independent MP Navneet Rana was heard in the Bombay High Court on Monday. This petition was filed against the second FIR registered against him. The court dismissed the petition and reprimanded him. The court said that the apprehension of deterioration of law and order was justified in the state. However, the Bombay High Court has granted relief from arrest to MP Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana.
