Ranchi court orders release of foreigners associated with Tablighi jamaat

New Delhi: A Ranchi court on Monday ordered the release of 17 foreign nationals belonging to the Tabligi Jamaat, who returned from a program in Nizamuddin, Delhi amid corona pandemic.

The court sentenced them to 3-3 months of imprisonment for confessing partial offenses, which they have already completed in judicial custody. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 2200-2200 was also issued on them. The court issued an order that all the accused have already completed their sentence period, in which case the fine should be released to all. The court of Ranchi Chief Judicial Magistrate Faheem Kirmani has also issued permission to all 17 foreigners to go abroad.

In this case, the counsel for the accused said that all the 17 foreign nationals have been traveling to different parts of the country as per their wish after getting bail from the Jharkhand High Court on July 15. He said that now after the order of the lower court, he is completely free and will soon be able to go to his country. In the same case, the court announced the release of Haji Meraj of Ranchi, accused of helping foreign nationals, by imposing a fine of Rs 6200.
