New Delhi: Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has announced to donate his entire salary as a Rajya Sabha member to help law students study. Ranjan Gogoi said that any student studying a five-year course of law can take advantage of this scholarship. These students can be from Assam or any part of the country. Gogoi has created a scholarship fund from his salary. He says that these salaries and allowances will help at least 10-15 students.

Ranjan Gogoi has not yet taken a single rupee from the salary and allowances he gets as a Rajya Sabha MP. He was nominated as a Rajya Sabha member in 2020. Speaking to the media, Gogoi, a Rajya Sabha MP, said he has not taken a single penny as salary and allowances in the last two years and hoped to accumulate enough funds to help 10-15 students study. With this scholarship money, the tuition fees of the students as well as their living and food expenses will also be borne.

Regarding this scholarship, they will give advertisements in newspapers, so that students can get information about it and they can apply. He said that all the students who want to apply can send the application to the concerned authorities on the email ID given by the end of this month. He said that with the application of 200 words, students will have to give the name of their institute and course information about the institute where they are studying. Along with this, they will also have to give the board exam mark list as well as the income certificate for the last three years of their family. In the application, information about the student's name, mobile number, email ID and place of study will also have to be given.
