They became the first Indian pair to win the BWF Super 500 badminton tournament. The unseeded Indian duo won the match 21-19 18-21 21-18, 21-18. It was the first final of the 2019 season for Rankireddy and Shetty, who won the men's doubles silver medal at the Commonwealth Games last year.
