Ranveer Singh grabbed all the limelights recently as he posed nude for a paper magazine. The pictures were posted on Instagram on July 21. Some of the people including his friends from the Industry supported him while some people also criticized him and called him against moral values. An FIR was also filed against him for hurting the sentiments of women.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against Ranveer Singh at Chembur police station in Mumbai last month on the basis of a complaint filed by an office-bearer of a non-governmental organization (NGO). Ranveer Singh on Monday (August 29) joined the investigation in the case of the nude photographs registered against him. He appeared before the cops earlier today and recorded his statement at the Chembur police station. His answer was recorded for almost 2 hours.
According to police sources, Ranveer Singh said that he is innocent. The actor said in his statement that Socha Bhi Nahi Tha Aesa Ho Jayga He further said, “His intention was not to hurt anyone's sentiments. After about two hours of interrogation, Ranveer Singh and his legal team have assured the police that they will cooperate in further investigation.”
Ranveer was served notice earlier this month and summoned to appear before the police on August 22. However, the actor had sought time of two weeks for the same. A fresh summon was sent to the actor and a new date was fixed. A complaint had claimed the actor "hurt the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty through his photographs." Based on the complaint, the police had registered the FIR against Singh under various Indian Penal Code Sections like 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
