Lucknow: The murder of Iram Siddiqui, which took place inside Azad Park in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is yet to be resolved, that now a case of rape of a BA student has come to the fore. On Friday (May 26), the victim lodged an FIR at the Colonelganj police station alleging that her boyfriend and maternal uncle's boys had raped and threatened her. Police is interrogating the relatives of the accused youths in custody. Police say that they will be arrested soon.
According to the report, the girl, a resident of Colonelganj area, studies in BA second year. She has lodged a complaint against her lover Rohit and two boys of her maternal uncle for rape, abusing and threatening to kill her at Colonelganj police station. The victim told the police that her maternal uncle's son had befriended Rohit about a year ago. Both were having a love affair for a year. Both used to visit Azad Park as well. On May 18, Rohit took her for a walk to Azad Park. While in the bushes, with the help of his maternal uncle's boys, Rohit did his dirty work with her.
The victim told that her mobile was also taken away. When she told her family members, she returned her mobile. Due to family pressure, she did not complain to the police. On Friday, the victim reached the police station and narrated her ordeal. The Colonelganj police has conducted the medical test of the girl student. Police will take further legal action on the basis of her statement. The search is on for the absconding accused.
