Guwahati : Guwahati Police has arrested a man, who was raping his 17-year-old daughter for the last seven years. The incident came to light when his landlord lodged an FIR against the accused at the Mahila police station. The accused was living on rent in Bhatpara area of ​​Guwahati due to his job. He was a resident of Kolkata. The police arrested the accused within three hours of the registration of the complaint.

A case was registered against the father under POSCO Act and IPC 376 2(n), 376(a b). Earlier, news of a 10-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted by a man in Moriyapatti, Amingaon. According to reports, the accused has been identified as Bikash Das, who lured the minor with food items in the absence of the victim's family member and allegedly assaulted the minor. The victim's family was living in a rented house at Moriyapatti in Amingaon.

After the incident came to light, the victim's father lodged an FIR at Amingaon police station. Amingaon police said, "Following the complaint of the victim's father to the police station, we have arrested the accused named Bikash Das." added. "Further, only inquiry will reveal the real truth." said the police officer.
