Lucknow: A rare 9th century statue of Lord Vishnu has been recovered during excavations in Barhalganj police station area of Gola, a development block in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. A huge crowd of nearby villagers gathered to see the statue. Nearby villagers installed the statue on a red cloth seat and started worshiping in the morning and evening. The villagers are demanding the installation of the idol by constructing a temple at the place where the idol comes out.

According to information, Newas Maurya, a resident of Nibi Dubey in Gola area of Gorakhpur, owns land in Tola Kodar alias Bagor of Anandgarh alias Mukundwar village. where farming is done. Jai Singh Yadav, a resident of Bhatnipar, was digging high-rises with labourers four days ago on Thursday and levelling the fields. During the digging of two to three feet in one corner of the field, the workers' hoe hit something concrete, but the workers did not pay attention to it. When the hoe ran again, the sound came again, then dug up and saw.

During the excavation, a statue of about one and a half feet was found lying. The workers informed the farm owner. The farm owner clarified the statue. It is the rare and attractive statue of Lord Vishnu. As soon as the news of this came, a crowd of people gathered to see the statue. Jai Singh Yadav, a resident of Bhatnipar, placed the idol on the akhara ground of the village. The people of the village started praying. This very rare idol has the virat form of Lord Vishnu as well as the idol of Mata Lakshmi, Hanuman ji, Ganesh ji and other deities.
