Bhubaneshwar: An extremely rare tiger is seen in the forests of Odisha. The special thing is that very close black stripes are made on this tiger's body. According to scientists, there are only 7-8 such tigers left in the whole state. 70 percent of the world's black tiger population lives in Orissa. For the first time a tiger with black stripes was found here in 2007 in Simipal Tiger Reserve.
The formal name of this tiger seen in Orissa is Melanistic Tiger. The black stripes on the tiger's body are due to genetic defect. Wildlife Expert and Wildlife Institute of India scientist Dr Bivash Pandava had also claimed earlier that black-tiger tigers are extremely rare all over the world. He told that of these, only 7-8 tigers are left in Orissa. These tigers are rare due to their genetics.
According to the tiger census report of 2018, the number of black-striped tigers has fallen drastically. Doctor Bishav tells that black stripes on the bodies of these tigers have come due to interbreeding. He told that the size of these tigers is smaller than that of normal tigers. He told that for the first time in India this type of tiger was seen in 1990. According to the report published in The Daily Mail, this photo was taken by Sauman Bajpai, who took a photo of Wildlife as an amateur. This picture is taken from eastern Odisha.
