Kerala:On Monday, Attingal double murder case first accused  Nino Mathew, was sentenced to death by the Principal Sessions Court, Thiruvananthapuram and the second accused Anu Santhi has got a life sentence.

Both accused have to pay Rs 50 lakh each as fine. The case was amongst the ''rarest of the rare,'' the court observed.

On Friday, the court had found Nino and his lover Anu Santhi - both ally in a Technopark firm - guilty of murdering the latter’s daughter Swastika and mother-in-Law Omana. The motive for the murder was to hide Nino's and Anu's relationship. The murder took place at Alamcode, Attingal, on April 16, 2014
