One of the fastest-growing names in the photography world, Rashid ALshafi is a talk of the town in Doha, Qatar. He discovered his desire and passion in photography during his grade school when he programmed computers to draw geometric pictures. He had been in the field of technology until he realized to return to his roots. His childhood was spent amidst the cameras as his family had various photo albums depicting their journey experiences. His grandfather was a photographer himself who inspired Rashid to make his career in photography.

The versatile photographer was fascinated by his grandfather’s clicks who had beautifully shot pictures of the places he visited. His pictures depicted diverse cultures of different places which were very different from Rashid’s birthplace, Mongolia, Russia. To learn photography, he asked for a camera from his grandfather and he received a full kit. That helped him a lot to become an amateur photographer. Initially, he took inspiration from Annie Leibovitz and Gregory Crewdson to capture dark moods with high contrast. Moreover, he learnt the black and white photography and clicked some surreal pictures of mundane places showcasing the beautiful lighting effects. 

After that, he learnt street photography and some of his clicks on the streets of Doha have left everyone impressed. He has a great sense in clicking portrait photography by showcasing the true essence of streets. Apart from this, Rashid also has some beautiful landscape pictures with elements like water and fire in it. Till now, the young photographer has managed to woo many people with his art and without any doubt, he is one of the best emerging photographers of Doha.
