New Delhi/Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Kevadiya where he will inaugurate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's Statue Of Unity today on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

Gujarat’s Kevadiya village  is  taking all the lime light today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel known as Statue of Unity. This is built in honour of India’s first Deputy Prime Minister of India. The statue of Patel, affectionately remembered as the Iron Man of India, is at an astounding height of 182 meters and was constructed at a cost of nearly Rs 3000 crores.

The magnificent inauguration ceremony of the world's tallest statue is being held today means on October 31. This day is also the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. The statue is placed at a river islet called Sadhu Bet near the Sardar Sarivar Dam in Gujarat. It was built in a record time of 33 months.  Meanwhile, ‘Run for unity’ events will also be conducted on Wednesday across the nation to honor the Sardar Patel .
