On the political developments in Maharashtra on Saturday, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Devendra Fadnavis was projected as the Chief Minister during the state assembly. The BJP's support and Devendra Fadnavis' announcement to be the CM played an important role in the victory of the Shiv Sena candidates. He said that Mumbai is the financial capital of India and Maharashtra is a big state. This was a conspiracy by the NCP-Shiv Sena-Congress to control Mumbai through the backdoor.

In his statement, he said that every single person of Maharashtra was questioning that we had given you a mandate. Why don't you form a government? This voice was coming from every section.  BJP has respected the sentiment of Maharashtra. He attacked the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray by citing the ideals of Balasaheb Thackeray.

Apart from this, Ravi Shankar Prasad, while replying to the allegations, said that those who could not defend the ideals of Balasaheb Thackeray, what will they talk about the ideals. On the Congress' charge of killing democracy, he said that it is not a murder of democracy when there is a game of grabbing power with the party of opposing ideology for self-interest by ignoring the mandate?

He said that the BJP has formed a government respecting the public sentiment of Maharashtra. The party will give an authentic, effective and honest government there. Prasad said that it has become a mahayuti which will give a permanent government.
