New Delhi: Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has strongly criticised the growing trend of pressuring the judiciary from the media and attempts to accuse judges of not making the desired decision on their plea. Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, it is not correct to impose personal objections on judges through social media. He has also expressed concern over the growing trend.

The law minister said, "Recent trend of creating a narrative by filing a PIL, unleashing a social media campaign and launching a vicious campaign against judges in event of an adverse verdict. This attitude of my way or highway is the biggest threat to the independence of the judiciary." Union Minister Prasad put the opposition party, especially the Congress, in the dock, saying that the impeachment of the Chief Justice of India has been the most unfortunate incident in the past few years.

Citing the breach of decorum of all pillars of democracy in an emergency, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said that the big leaders of the Modi government have suffered torture for the freedom of the judiciary in the emergency and are therefore concerned about the growing attack on the judiciary.
