New Delhi: Team India's star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is set to clinch a big record when he enters the fray against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday. The spinner is just one wicket away from completing 250 wickets in T20 cricket. Ashwin, 34, has 139 wickets in his career IPL, while he has taken 52 wickets for India in 46 T20Is. The rest of his wickets have come in the domestic circuit.

Mentions that Ashwin is the sixth highest wicket-taker in IPL. Veteran pacer Lasith Malinga tops the line with 170 wickets. It is followed by Amit Mishra (160), Piyush Chawla (156), Dwayne Bravo (154) and Harbhajan Singh (150). Apart from Malinga, all the top five wicket takers are playing in this IPL. Malinga had announced his retirement before the start of the 14th season of the tournament, while he made himself unavailable for personal reasons in IPL 2020.

Talking about Delhi Capitals (DC), the team is all set to take on Rajasthan Royals on Thursday night. Delhi Capitals have won their last five matches against Royals. With this, winning the first game against CSK in the current season will boost confidence for the team.
