New Delhi: Veteran textile company Raymond is planning to increase its number of stores across the country in the coming times. By 2021, the company can expand its retail outlets across the country to 2,000. All these shops will be opened in small towns and will include all the company's brand shops. Let us tell you that Raymond also runs the shops under the brand name 'Color Plus', 'Park Avenue' and 'Parks'. The company has a total of 1,500 shops in 600 cities across the country. "Raymond wants its retail outlets to reach 2,000 by 2021," said Sanjay Bahl, chief executive of Raymond's lifestyle business.

He said that most of the new Raymond stores will be opened on the basis of the franchise model. Not only this, but Raymond is also planning to open 50 shops in Bangladesh. As of now, Raymond operates 18 shops in Bangladesh, 4 in Nepal and 10 in West Asia and Pakistan. Raymond entered the retail market 90 years ago in 1958, opening his first store in Mumbai. "Raymond has become the largest branded fashion retail network in the country since the company's opening of its 1,000th store," said Sanjay Bahl. He said the average sales of Raymond branded stores in current times is Rs 2 crore per year, taking its business to Rs 2,000 crore.
