New Delhi: New 'revelations' are happening continuously about the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) relationship with the Modi government. After former RBI Governor Urjit Patel, now-former Deputy Governor Viral Acharya has given rise to a new controversy with one of his books. He said that the government was constantly trying to undermine the autonomy of the Reserve Bank, which is why Urjit Patel had to quit before the time.

It is worth mentioning that, like Urjit Patel, Viral Acharya also abandoned his post before the time due to not being able to sit back from the government. In his book 'Quest for Restoring Financial Stability in India', Acharya has made many serious allegations against the Modi government. He has said that the government was in the process of undermining the autonomy of the Reserve Bank.

He has also told in this book about why he left his post before the scheduled time. The book is a collection of his observations, speeches, and studies on the monetary policy of the Reserve Bank. He says that between January 2017 and July 2019, he held the post of the deputy governor, due to many policies, the economic environment of the country became backward.
