New Delhi: Former Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Raghuram Rajan has expressed a desire to help deal with the economic crisis arising out of the coronavirus epidemic. Talking to a private TV news channel, Rajan said that he is ready to help if anyone urges to help him deal with the recession caused by coronavirus, according to a news report on Bhaskar.com.

He said that due to this epidemic, the world is definitely going towards the Great Depression and its stagnation will depend on the efforts made to stop the recurrence of this epidemic. Rajan, who is doing education work in America, says that we should assure more and more companies and people that the virus is under control. Recently, Rajan suggested in a blog that now a plan should be made after the lockdown, what will happen if the effect of the virus does not end? It will be difficult to keep the country completely locked down for long.

Rajan had said that, therefore, we should think about how we can start some activities in areas of low infection with caution. At the same time, Rajan suggested to reach the poor through direct benefit transfer and help small and medium enterprises.
