Mumbai: Recently, Anil Ambani resigned as the director of telecom company Reliance Communications (RCOM). Now Reliance Communications lenders have rejected the resignation of Anil Ambani and four other officials from the company. The lenders have appealed to Ambani to cooperate in the debt and insolvency process.

In the filing of the BSE, RCOM had said that the meeting of its lenders' committee (COC) was held on 20 November. It said that, "The committee unanimously stated that the resignations cannot be accepted." According to the quarterly results released by the company, the company had a loss of more than 30 thousand crores, which is the second-largest loss in corporate history after Vodafone-Idea.

It was only then that the company issued a statement saying that apart from Anil Ambani, Chhaya Virani, Rayna Karani, Manjari Kakkar, and Suresh Rangachar have resigned their respective posts. Of these, Anil Ambani, Chhaya Virani, and Manjari Kaker resigned on November 15. At the same time, Rayna Karani resigned from her post on November 14 and Suresh Rangachar on November 13. Now, these resignations have been rejected by the lenders.
