Barcelona's dominance over Real Madrid for the last three matches has been badly broken. Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick as Real Madrid thrashed Barcelona 4-0 in a Clásico match to enter the final of the Copa del Rey after nine years. Real beat Barcelona by four goals after 60 years at Camp Nou. Prior to this, in 1963, he defeated Barcelona 5–1 at Camp Nou. They will face Osasuna in the final on May 6 in Sevilla.

Benzema scored all three goals in the second half. Brazil's star striker Vinicius Junior also put Real in the lead in stoppage time of the first half. He has also scored from the centre of the box. In the 50th minute of the second half, Benzema made it 2-0 on Modric's pass. In the 58th minute, KC won a penalty after bringing down Vinicius, which was converted by Benzema. Benzema scored the fourth goal in the 81st minute. Benzema also scored a hat-trick in Real's 6-0 win over Valladolid in La Liga in the previous match. Coach Carlo Ansolotti also said that it is clear that if Karim improves, the team is going to play well. If he is playing at his best, then all is well.
