Star Shuttler PV Sindhu, who plays her first Olympics at Rio, is excited to participate at the mega event and is hopeful of winning a medal for the country.
Sindhu, while addressing mediapersons here today, said,"This is my first Olympics, I am little nervous and excited, trained hard for this mega event and hopeful of a medal."
"I am hopeful of a medal and full prepared for it however, a lot depends on the performance at that particular day of the event.
Our coach Pullela Gopichand has helped us in preparing for the event as every player knows our game and we know theirs," the Hyderabadi said.
Talking about her fitness level, the shuttler, who is currently ranked 10th in world rankings, said "I am very conscious about fitness as a better fitness means more chances of winning medals.
" Speaking on her meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several other Rio-bound Indian Athletes, the 20-year-old said,"Meeting PM was a great morale booster for the players and it helped in boosting our confidence level."
