If you like to have a healthy and tasty winter evening snack then today we have come up with one such snack idea. This snack is made up of matar ie. peas which is not fried. You might have known about Matar Paratha or Matar Kachori, but today we are gong to tell you the recipe of Matar Appe.
1 cup – Semolina (Rawa)
1/2 cup – Curd
1 cup – Green peas
1-2tbsp – Finely chopped spring onion/dry onion
2tbsp – Finely chopped coriander
Finely chopped green chillies (as per taste)
1/2tsp – Cumin seeds
1/2tsp – White sesame seeds
A pinch of turmeric powder
Salt as per taste
1/2tsp – Fruit salt or 1/4tsp baking soda
Oil/ghee for frying
How to Make:
*First, take a bowl and add 1 cup semolina in it
*Then add 1/2 cup curd to it
*After curd, add some water and mix it well and rest for half an hour
*Now take a mixer jar and add 1 cup green peas (matar) and grind it finely.
*Add peas mixture in soaked semolina
*Now add 1-2 table spoon finely chopped spring onion/dry onion. You can also add freshly chopped green garlic
*Add approx 2 table spoon of finely chopped coriander
*After that add finely chopped green chillies as per taste.
*Now add 1/2 table spoon cumin seeds (optional); 1/2 tsp white sesame seeds (optional); add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt as per taste and mix it well.
*Now add some water if the batter gets thick
*Add 1/4 tsp baking soda into this mixture
*Further heat up appam pan, pour some oil/ghee in all cavities and fill batter in each cavity.
*Cook it on slow to medium flame.
*Flip once when it turns golden-brown, then press gently with a spoon and leave again for further cooking.
*Turn off the stove once both the sides are cooked well. Serve it warm with coriander-mint chutney.
