Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 5 Pro in India in February and had a huge sales in the mid-range smartphone segment. This handset was running on the 7.1 UI MUI based on Nougat.
Now Xiaomi India has announced its decision to officially give the MUI 9.5 update to the phone. It will be based on Android Oreo. This update will be released over the air. It has been informed that Redmi Note 5 Pro will start receiving Android OREO updates from June 29.
Official Twitter account of MIUI India tweeted on Monday, the company has said to release the stable MiUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. It will be released as an update in phase. It is possible that your device may take some time to get this update.
It is worth noting that Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched earlier in the Indian market. After this, the same phone was introduced in the Chinese market with some upgrades named Redmi Note 5. At the same time, China's Redmi 5 Plus handset came in the name of Redmi Note 5. The price of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro starts at Rs. 14,999 in India. There will be 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variants at this price. For 16,999 rupees you will get a variant of 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.
