BJP MPs cry in Rajya Sabha referring to Birbhum violence, say- Impose President's rule in Bengal

New Delhi: BJP MP Roopa Ganguly cried in the Rajya Sabha while giving details about the Birbhum incident. She said in the House, "We demand the imposition of President's Rule in West Bengal. There are mass murders taking place there. People are fleeing from there. The state is no longer habitable. In the Rajya Sabha, she said, "People in West Bengal cannot speak. The Government is protecting the murderers. There is no other state where the government kills people after winning elections. We are human beings. We don't do politics of the stone heart.''

BJP MP Roopa Ganguly today referred to the incident of life-threatening lynching of eight persons in Bengal's Birbhum district in the Rajya Sabha, which was strongly opposed by Trinamool Congress (TMC) members and created a ruckus. Due to this, the House was adjourned for about 15 minutes. As soon as Ganguly mentioned the incident of killing eight people alive in Birbhum during the Zero period, the TMC members stood in their seats and started protesting strongly. After this, BJP members also started opposing TMC MPs from their seats, due to which there was a lot of noise and ruckus.  

During this time, Roopa Ganguly got emotional and started crying. Slogans were also raised against each other from both sides during this period. Ganguly said that first people were beaten up and then tied up and burnt alive. He said Bengal is the land of Dakshineswar Mahakali and people have the right to live there also. Later, TMC members came to the well of the house and started shouting slogans. In the meantime, Deputy Chairman Harivansh called the names of the members for a Special Mention, but due to the noise, nothing could be heard. As the ruckus escalated, the Deputy Chairman adjourned the House till 12:10 pm at 11:55 minutes.
