telecom operator Reliance Jio On Monday announced that the company is going to give users the option of voice and video calling with the help of Wi-Fi network across the country. Airtel has already rolled out the feature of Wi-Fi calling in many cities of India. Airtel is providing this service to users in Delhi NCR, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra (Mumbai), Kolkata, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Now Jio is going to roll-out this feature for users across the country. Let's know in full detail
For your information, let us tell you that with the help of Wi-Fi calling feature, a separate channel is created for voice calling on your Wi-Fi network. In this way, users can call even from places where the telecom network does not come correctly. Users can easily switch calls from their telecom network to any Wi-Fi network for better quality. Currently, this feature is available only on OTT (over the top) apps, such as WhatsApp, WeChat and Hike. Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio started testing the VoWiFi calling feature from 2018 after getting the green signal from the telecom department.
You will be able to call over Wi-Fi network from your mobile number with the help of voice over Wi-Fi calling without any third-party app. Using this feature, if the user wants to call with the help of Wi-Fi, then he has to keep the VoLTE and WiFi calling option on his smartphone. You will be able to transmit your voice data over the LTE network when you turn on the voice over LTE switch. At the same time, voice-calls can be made in better quality in case of Wi-Fi calling option toggle-on.
