INSACOG said that the two recombinant variants on the global scene - XE and XD are being closely monitored across the globe. XD, which contains an omicron S gene inserted into a delta genome. It is mainly found in France. INSACOG said, XE is a recombinant of BA.1 and BA.2, which contains most of the genome, including the S gene related to BA.2. XE spreads a bit more quickly.
