Remains of woman reported lost on April 30 is discovered in the River Thames

London: Detectives have pulled a body from the River Thames that belonged to a 24-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered by her husband and reported missing on April 30.

According to a report from the BBC on Friday, Suma Begum's body was found on Wednesday, shortly after a member of the public called the Metropolitan Police.

In London's Tower Hamlets neighbourhood of Orchard Place, Begum was said to have vanished.

The body was discovered in Thamesmead, according to the police, and an official identification was planned. However, police have given the Begum family an update, and a post-mortem is scheduled.

Aminan Rahman, 45, of Orchard Place, the victim's husband, was accused of her slaying on May 4.

Rahman spoke to a court on Tuesday while appearing via video link from HMP Pentonville and using a Bengali interpreter.

Prior to a July 25 hearing for a plea and trial preparation, the court judge ruled that Rahman be held in custody.
