Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, offered his respects on the anniversary of the passing of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In Lucknow, he laid a floral tribute at the statue of the esteemed leader at Lok Bhavan. Alongside him were MLA Neeraj Bora, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, and various other ministers.

In memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Chief Minister Yogi shared his thoughts on his official 'X' social media account (formerly known as Twitter), expressing, "We've paved the path of duty with sweat, often mingling tears and even our lives. Yet, we've never halted on this journey or succumbed to challenges. Homage to the late Prime Minister, the 'Bharat Ratna,' the venerable Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji, on his death anniversary."

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid his respects to the BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the anniversary of his passing. He conveyed, via the 'X' platform, "I stand united with India's 1.4 billion people in honoring the extraordinary Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. His leadership greatly benefited India, playing a pivotal role in propelling our nation's progress across a spectrum of sectors, leading us into the 21st century."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, convened at the 'Sadaiv Atal' in Delhi to commemorate the former PM on this anniversary. A prayer meeting was held, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Cabinet members, and representatives from various political parties. 'Sadaiv Atal' stands as a memorial to the former prime minister.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, born in Gwalior in 1924, was the prominent face of the BJP for several decades. He notably became the first non-Congress prime minister to complete a full term in office.
