Hyderabad: Gaddar, the prominent Indian poet and activist, breathed his last on Sunday, August 6, at the age of 77. Known by his stage name, Gummadi Vittal Rao, he had been battling severe heart disease and was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital.

 

Fondly referred to as the 'People's Singer,' Gaddar's impact on the cultural and social fabric of Telangana was profound. His resonant voice and revolutionary ballads echoed the soul of the region, making him a beloved figure among the masses.

Upon the news of his demise, Twitter was flooded with condolences and heartfelt tributes. Telangana Congress expressed deep grief, praising him as a great poet and revolutionary balladeer who championed the cause of the people.
