Maharashtra: Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra are increasing day by day, but in the meantime, the re-opening of schools is also being considered. Recently about the opening of schools in Maharashtra, Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has said, 'Schools will not be opened in the state before Diwali'. So far 15,17,434 cases of infection have been reported in Maharashtra, which is a shocking figure.
40,040 people have died due to infection. Earlier, the central government had ordered the closure of all educational institutions from March 16 to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. After that, the government had given permission to open schools in a phased manner from 15 October. Talking about this, Varsha said, 'Schools are running online classes and in some areas, teachers are running special classes for students.'
She said, "We are exploring various options, it is clear that schools will not open before Diwali." Apart from this, senior officials of the state education department said, 'In the present circumstances there is no question of re-opening the schools because there is no hope of ending the epidemic'. State Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said that the department is not in favor of re-opening the college till the infection is overcome. All the educational institutes in the country have been closed since March. Now gradually when the country has come into unlocked 5.0 then plans are being made to open school colleges.
