After students and teachers raised attention towards Class 10 English paper, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had ensured that the board will look into the matter before the finalization of marking scheme which is to be prepared for evaluation of this paper.

According to a Times Now report, CBSE has chosen to give two extra marks to the students who have attempted the comprehension passage question which had asked students to look for synonyms.

The CBSE had conducted the Class X English paper on March 12, 2018.
It may be noted that in the third question of Passage 2, the students were asked to search and write synonyms of endurance, obstruction, and motivation from paragraphs two, four and five, respectively but the experts and teachers noted that the actual synonyms of the words were to be found in paras three and six of the said passage.

About CBSE- The Central Board of Secondary Education (abbreviated as CBSE) is a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Union Government of India. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all schools affiliated to follow only NCERT curriculum.

CBSE affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private schools and most of the schools approved by central government of India.
