These 6 policemen from Uttarakhand including ADG, will get 'President's Police Medal'

Dehradun: ADG Abhinav Kumar will be awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. He will be conferred with this honour on Republic Day. In addition to these, five officers and personnel have been selected for the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Among those who have won the medals for meritorious service are Chamoli DSP Dhan Singh Tomar, DSP (M) Nandan Singh Bisht posted at police headquarters, Pauri DSP Ganesh Lal, Inspector Of Intelligence Mahesh Chand Chandola and Sub-Inspector Special Category Champawat Ramesh Chand Bhatt.

The same ADG Abhinav Kumar is the only officer from Uttarakhand to receive the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Abhinav is currently holding the responsibility of ADG administration at headquarters. Earlier, he had handled several responsibilities while on deputation at the Centre. He is a 1996 batch IPS officer.

CISF Assistant Commandant Madhu Sudan Semwal, resident of Rochipura Niranjanpur Dehradun, Doon has been selected for the President's Medal. In addition to CISF, Madhusudan Semwal has rendered important services in the CBI, National Human Rights Commission and NIA during his tenure of 35 years. He has been instrumental in setting up the NIA. At present, he has been posted in Jammu and Kashmir from his battalion. Semwal's primary education was from Kendriya Vidyalaya Haridwar and DAV College Dehradun. Dehradun resident DIG CRPF Vimal Kumar Bisht will be given the President's Distinguished Medal.

- Awarded by DGP in 2006 for outstanding work.
- Meritorious Service Medal for Distinguished Work in 2014.
- Outstanding Service Medal for Distinguished Work in 2016.
- Meritorious Service Medal for Distinguished Work in 2017.
- Honoured by CM for outstanding unveiling on National Integration Day in 2019.
- Excellent Service Medal for Distinguished Work in 2021.
