Ujjain: Republic Day is going to be celebrated on January 26 across the country. The festival of the Indian Republic will be celebrated on 20th February at the Bada Ganesh temple in Ujjain. The national festivals in this temple are celebrated not by date but by Tithi. In this regard, the temple management says, "The tradition of celebrating Teej, festivals, anniversaries, etc., as per date is English. In the Indian Sanatan Dharma, tradition and astrological sciences, festivals are celebrated by looking at the date set by the Panchal census. Yesterday, on 26th January 1950, when the Republic was established in India, the form of Magh month was the Ashtami date.

This is the festival of Republic Day celebrated every year on the Ashtami date of the form of Magh mas. This time this date is on 20th February, this is why Republic Day is going to be celebrated on this day. Talking about this, Jyocharacharya Pt. Anandshankar Vyas said that this tradition has been going on for years in the Bada Ganesh temple. According to him, this time also, Republic Day will be celebrated on 20th February and Lord Bada Ganesha will be anointed for the defence and prosperity of the country. In addition, the temple will have a new flag at the top and tributes will be paid to the freedom fighters.

Independence Day 15th August: Shravan Krishna Chaturdashi (August 7)

Republic Day January 26: Ashtami of Shukla Paksha of Magh Mas (February 20)

Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti 2nd October: Ashwin Krishna Party's Second (September 23)

Nehru Jayanti 14th November: Shashthi of Krishna Paksha of Margapex (November 25)
