NEW DELHI: The Tricolour was unfurled in various states across India on the occasion of the 74th Republic Day on Thursday. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami raised the Tricolour at his Dehradun house.

On Republic Day, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat unfurled the Tricolor in Botad. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also present on the occasion. Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, also raised the National Flag at his official residence in Mumbai.

On Republic Day, Chief Minister Zoramthanga of Mizoram unfurled the Tricolour at the CM Office in Aizwal. On this day, Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan unfurled the National Flag in Patna.

On the 74th Republic Day, Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan raised the national flag at Hyderabad. However, Chief Minister KCR  did not attend the celebrations in Hyderabad's Raj Bhavan. 

On Republic Day, the Tricolour was also flown at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. Shridhar Gadge, RSS Nagpur Mahanagar Sahsanghchalak, raised the national flag on the occasion.

Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Governor of Odisha, unfurled the national flag and saluted the Republic Day parade in Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was also in attendance. Today, President Droupadi Murmu will hoist the Tricolor at Kartavya Path in the national capital.

The Prime Minister started the day's ceremonies by visiting the National War Memorial where he led the nation in paying homage to the fallen heros. Inter-Services Guards formed by 7 soldiers from each service. Thereafter, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries head to the saluting dais at Kartavya Path to witness the parade.

This year's Republic Day festivities will highlight the country's military superiority, cultural diversity, and a variety of other noteworthy projects. Building on last year's celebrations, the 75th year of Independence, known as 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,' will be marked by energy, enthusiasm, patriotic fervour, and 'Jan Bhagidari,' as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The parade's chief guest will be Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
