The crime unit of the Special Cell of Delhi Police has busted a racket involved in sextortion operating from Bharatpur in Rajasthan. According to information received, 24-year-old Hakamuddin from Bharatpur has been arrested in the case. According to reports, the crime unit had received a complaint a few days ago, in which the complainant had alleged that he had received a friend request on Facebook and sought his WhatsApp number. It was further reported that after some time, he received a video call with obscene content on WhatsApp.

During all this, about two lakh rupees were recovered from the person. It is being told that after making a video call on WhatsApp, the man found a morphed video of himself containing sexual content. After that, the accused started demanding money for not uploading the video on the internet. During this out of fear, the complainant gave Rs 1,96,000/- to the alleged persons. At the same time, after his complaint, the crime unit registered a case and started an investigation.

Investigations revealed that mobile phone numbers used to call the complainant were issued from Assam and were being used in Bharatpur in Rajasthan. Not only that, it is the most common method used by extortionists based in Bharatpur and most of them are involved in cases of online fraud and sexual abuse.
