RBI now going to ban these 3 currency notes after 1000-500

New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is considering making some more notes out of circulation. For this, people will get two-three months' time. The plan to exclude these notes from circulation is being finalised, though nothing has been clearly stated in this regard since when it will be.

RBI Assistant general manager B Mahesh has informed on Friday that the central bank is considering to withdraw the old series of 100, 10 and 5 rupee notes by March or April. These notes will be out of circulation. Assistant general manager B Mahesh said that it may take two to three months now. As soon as the final decision is made, the old notes of Rs. 100, Rs. 10 and Rs. 5 will not be in circulation.

Earlier, the old notes of 500 rupees had gone out of circulation. In the statement, B. Mahesh gave a meeting of the district level Security Committee and the district level Money Management Committee organized by the District lead bank. After the demonetisation decision on November 8, 2016, there were several changes in the currency note. A thousand rupee notes were closed, while the old 500 rupee notes were also thrown out of circulation.
