Reserve Bank's board reviews domestic global, economic situation

Mumbai : The Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) Central Board of Directors met for the 591st time to discuss the current domestic and global economic situation and challenges. The RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das presided over the 591st meeting, which was held in Mumbai.

The Board discussed potential solutions for dealing with the new challenges. It also covered the work of the Central Board's sub-committees and the activities of a few Central Office Departments, such as a nationwide survey of bank customers on the banks' grievance redress systems and the operation of the Ombudsman schemes. The Governor was also congratulated on his reappointment by the Board.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Governors Mahesh Kumar Jain, Dr Michael Debabrata Patra, M Rajeshwar Rao, T Rabi Sankar, and other Central Board Directors N Chandrasekaran, Satish K Marathe, S Gurumurthy, and Prof Sachin Chaturvedi. The meeting was also attended by Debasish Panda, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, and Ajay Seth, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs.
