Jaipur, The Rajasthan Medical College Teachers' Association appealed to the government to withdraw all their orders relating to resident doctors' strike including termination of services of resident doctors.

The RMCTA is an organisation of professors and other teaching staff of medical colleges.

The office-bearers of RMCTA met protesting resident doctors on Thursday and asked them to resume duties by withdrawing the strike.

"We want that the strike should end with immediate effect."The bone of contention is Medical Council of India's (MCI) guidelines on examination pattern. The MCI is an apex regulatory body of the medical colleges. So whatever are the directions of MCI, they should be followed. Now if the current pattern of examination is as per the guidelines of MCI, then it should be followed. And if it is not as per the guidelines, then it should be changed", said, RMCTA secretary Dr Dhananjai Agarwal.

Since the strike of the doctors continued on the fourth day, the government stepped up efforts to take support of private medical colleges and hospitals.

The medical education department claimed that the strike has not affected healthcare facilities in hospitals.
