New Delhi: A resolution against the appointment of new Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana has been passed on the first day of the monsoon session of the Delhi Assembly. CM Arvind Kejriwal will address the Assembly on the issue today i.e. The proposal was moved by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sanjeev Jha in the House.

He further said that the appointment of Rakesh Asthana is against the rules. Also, the apex court order has been violated during this appointment. Sanjeev Jha has accused the Centre of sending Rakesh Asthana to Delhi on a special mission. Why the post of Delhi Police Commissioner to a Gujarat cadre officer? His question is, why was a Gujarat cadre officer made Delhi police commissioner? The Central Government wants to stop Delhi from working. Whoever is against them, their voice is being suppressed. No outside cadre officer can solve the problem of Delhi.

Delhi Government Minister Satyendra Jain also raised his voice against the appointment of Rakesh Asthana. He questioned whether all Delhi authorities are rejected, or are promoting terrorism? The Gujarat cadre officer is being given the command of the Delhi Police. He said both Congress and BJP are together.
