Khandwa: Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has made a controversial statement in the state government which was engaged by the BJP in the Khandwa Lok Sabha by-election in Madhya Pradesh. He has come under flak for his same statement. In fact, in a statement made last Saturday, he said, "The party has given him the responsibility of not winning a single polling booth in this by-election.'' Just hours after his statement aired on social media, he released a video clarifying it. In a clarification, he said, "In a hurry, the earlier statement was out due to accidentally slipping the tongue and the Congress need not be happy with it.''

Let me tell all of you that Shah had said in his earlier statement last Saturday, "By calling the prominent workers of the region, we have requested that the party has given me the responsibility of not winning the BJP from a single polling booth in this election. So, at 264 polling booths, I myself would request that we strengthen Modiji's hands.'' After his statement went viral on social media, he realized his mistake and issued a new statement on Twitter a few hours later. In his new statement, he said, "At a meeting of some BJP workers in Beed on its way to Omkareshwar today, I said that BJP should not lose from a single polling booth. Because I was in a hurry and said the BJP did not win because the tongue slipped, it went away by mistake. Congressmen are very happy about that.''

At the same time, he further said, "I claim that I am ready to impose whatever the condition if the Congress wins from here. There is no need to make a fuss about the matter when the tongue slips. The BJP is not going to lose out on congressmen. We workers will come together to made the BJP win from here by historic votes.''
